The Health Workforce Technical Assistance Center

Providing Technical Assistance to States and Organizations that Engage in Health Workforce Planning

Established to support the efforts of the National Center for Health Workforce Analysis (NCHWA), the Health Workforce Technical Assistance Center (HWTAC) provides technical assistance to states and organizations that engage in health workforce planning. Each year, HWTAC is engaged in a number of initiatives designed to provide expert assistance with health workforce data collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination.

HWTAC is a sub-center of CHWS, based at the School of Public Health, University at Albany, State University of New York. HWTAC was formed as a partnership between CHWS and the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research at the University of North Carolina. HWTAC is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Health Resources and Services Administration in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
