Service obligated programs serve to incentivize healthcare professionals to provide care to underserved New Yorkers. Through these programs, healthcare professionals of various backgrounds are motivated to work in shortage areas or in difficult-to-recruit positions through loan forgiveness, scholarships, or immigration requirement waivers.
This database provides information on all service obligated programs available to New Yorkers through an interactive database. Potential applicants can search by type of sponsorship (federal or state), type of program (loan forgiveness, scholarships, or immigration requirement waivers), or by the professions supported. The database also provides a summary of each service obligated program and a link to its corresponding website for more information.
