Summary:The National Health Service Corps Rural Community Loan Repayment Program is designed to recruit and retain medical, nursing, and behavioral/mental health clinicians who provide evidence-based substance use disorder treatment in rural communities designated as Health Professional Shortage Areas.

Additional Information:State-issued supplemental SUD credentials, which are distinct from the licensure/certification that SUD counselors must have in order to practice SUD counseling, are not required but will determine an applicant’s ranking in the selection process.
