Summary:The National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program is a service-obligated program designed to recruit and retain medical, nursing, dental, and behavioral/mental health clinicians in eligible communities of need designated as Health Professional Shortage Areas.

Health Professionals Supported:Advanced practice nurses, certified nurse-midwife, dental hygienists, dentists, licensed mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, physician assistants (primary care), physicians (primary care and general psychiatry), psychiatric nurse specialists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, speech-language pathologists, and substance use counselors

Additional Information:Time commitment may be full- or part-time and commitment can be extended one year at a time until qualifying debt is paid off.
