Summary:The National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students pursuing primary care health professions training in return for a commitment to provide primary care health services in a Health Professional Shortage Area.

Length of Service:Full-time: Minimum of two years and maximum of four years Part-time: Minimum of four years and maximum of eight years

Minimum HPSA Score Required:Minimum score is determined year-to-year

Place of Service Obligation:NHSC-approved site in designated HPSAs

Health Professionals Supported:Dentists, certified nurse-midwives, family nurse practitioners, physicians (primary care), and physician assistants (primary care)

Additional Information:Time commitment will depend on the number of years a scholar recieved support. Once scholarship commitment is concluded scholars can apply for NHSC loan repayment if there is outstanding qualifying debt.
