Summary:The Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR LRP) is a service-obligated loan repayment program for licensed and registered SUD professionals who provide direct treatment or recovery support of patients with or in recovery from a substance use disorder at a STAR LRP-approved facility.

Place of Service Obligation:STAR-LRP approved facilities that meet mortality or HPSA designation criteria.

Additional Information: STAR-LRP will rank applicants based on a tiered applicant ranking criteria that prioritizes awardees with the highest county overdose mortality rate, highest mental healh HPSA, and the duration of tenure at a STAR-LRP approved facility.
